It's easy to switch. Just choose the call package or product you want from us and register for it online or by calling customer services on 0845 215 1640. We will liaise with your existing supplier to transer your service - you don't need to do anything. You will then receive a welcome letter from us. You may also receive a letter from your existing provider asking you why you want to move away from them. Don't worry about this, you don't have to respond, we will notify them that your are transferring your telecoms to us and take care of the switch over.

Yes, you can register with us even if you have line rental from BT or you are a cable customer. If you have call barring with your current provider, or you are on BT's Light User Scheme, please ask them to change your service to 'standard line rental' before you register with first:telecom. Or switch to line rental with us from just £10.50 per month and just receive one bill. To switch to us, call customer services on 0845 215 1640.
Registering your details with us takes less than 5 minutes. We will then activate your service within 14 days. You will receive the exact date of when your service begins within 7 days of registering, along with a welcome pack.
New customers: the service start date is normally within 14 days of registration and there is no disruption to your service. From the start date you can continue to make calls just as before, but you will benefit from our low call prices.
Existing customers: If you have requested a service upgrade, this will take place within 14 days fo your request - we will advise you of the exact date.
